I’ve always loved telling stories…
My time at the University of Georgia helped me shape that passion in a meaningful way, and now I’m using those skills in my journalism career.
As a food and dining reporter at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, I report on restaurant openings and closings, trends in the industry and feature stories about the food, the business and the people. As the journalism landscape evolves, I’ve experimented with new mediums like short-form social media videos to spread awareness of the work the AJC’s food team is doing.
While right now my passion lies in food and restaurant reporting, I’ve had the opportunity to jump in on breaking news stories as well. You can find most of my work at ajc.com/staff/olivia-wakim.
My curiosity drives me to ask questions and meet new people.
